base-centered lattice [′bās ‚sen·tərd ′lad·əs]

(crystallography)

A space lattice in which each unit cell has lattice points at the centers of each of two opposite faces as well as at the vertices; in a monoclinic crystal, they are the faces normal to one of the lattice axes.
