Galloway,

district, Dumfries and Galloway, SW Scotland. The Rhinns, or Rinns, of Galloway is a rocky double peninsula that juts into the North Channel of the Irish Sea; its southern extremity is called the Mull of Galloway and is the southernmost point in Scotland. The black, hornless Galloway cattle have long been bred in this region. Dairying is the primary industry.

As a side issue, the success of this is due in no small part to the fact that the cattle we keep are Belted Galloways, a small hardy breed originally from Scotland.
The Belted Galloways are very distinctive looking, all black with a white stripe down the middle.
