(biochemistry)
A technique used to produce a commercial substance (such as alcohol) by a biological process (that is, via microbial fermentation).
A technique used to prepare a biological material (usually genetically engineered) for commercial use.

Subjects covered in the papers include: stem cells and tissue- engineered skin, whole-cell bioprocessing of human fetal cells for tissue engineering, evaluation of biocompatibility and cytotoxicity using keratinocyte and fibroblast cultures, skin substitutes and wound healing, in vitro irritation models and immune reactions, and melanocytes--from morphology to application.
