If you hold certain events outside in the winter time, blue caps can be used to advertise the event.
This was held in the Civic Theatre along with six other local bands - I'm not sure if the Blue Caps and the Delmonts were two of the other groups.
Here Gene and the Blue Caps rock out on Be Bop A Lula, Blue Jean Bop and Race With The Devil.
