Brochure
a printed work of relatively small volume, in international practice, no less than five nor more than 48 pages; one of the means of mass printed propaganda. The first brochures appeared in the period of the Reformation, and brochures acquired especially great significance in the period of the Great French Revolution. In the history of the Russian revolutionary movement, brochures, particularly those published illegally, played an important role in assisting the diffusion of Marxist ideas. In the USSR, brochures are widely distributed. Brochures on sociopolitical, socioeconomic, agricultural, and popularized scientific subjects are issued in huge printings.
