Caerphilly

Caerphilly (kīrfĭl`ē, kär–), Welsh Caerffili, town (1981 pop. 42,376) and county borough, 108 sq mi (279 sq km), S Wales. Famous for its cheese-making industry, the town of Caerphilly is home to a 13th-century castle, which is the largest in Wales and the second largest in Great Britain after Windsor Castle. A number of light industries dominate the economy.
