Catch-As-Catch-Can
professional wrestling that allows any moves or holds, including tripping, holding the legs with the arms, hitting, and twisting and bending the joints, with the aim of pinning the opponent on his shoulders. This form of wrestling originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in North America; its sources go back to 17th-century American amateur catch-as-catch-can wrestling, which was based on British and Mayan wrestling. As a form of entertainment, commercial matches are presented in the USA, Great Britain, Italy, and a number of other capitalist countries; they are usually held in a ring and have a predetermined scenario.
