a narrow ramp extending from the stage into the audience in a theatre, nightclub, etc., esp as used by models in a fashion show

(engineering)
A narrow, raised platform or pathway used for passage to otherwise inaccessible areas, such as a raised walkway on a ship permitting fore and aft passage when the main deck is awash, a walkway on the roof of a freight car, or a walkway along a vehicular bridge.
