center punch[′sen·tər ‚pənch]
A tool similar to a prick punch but having the point ground to an angle of about 90°; used to enlarge prick-punch marks or holes.
A hand-held punch consisting of a steel rod, one end of which has a sharp point; used to mark a point on metal, indicating where a hole is to be drilled.
