The Agriculture Sector in FATA is a major indigenous source for economic development opportunities, yet low yield per acre, mainly because of lack of irrigation facilities is a major shortcoming which requires due consideration and resources to build storage and check dams for storing water and increasing productivity of the farmlands.
The flooding was the result of a burst check dam on the canal following heavy rains.
