composite number [kəm′päz·ət ′nəm·bər]
(mathematics) Any positive integer which is not prime. Also known as composite quantity. Composite Number a natural number that is not prime. In other words, a composite number is a natural number that has divisors other than 1 and itself. For example, 4, 18, and 105 are composite numbers.
