A motion of the airflow forward and backward through the compressor, which is accompanied by available indications ranging from muffled rumblings to explosion(s) and vibrations. A rapid rise in JPT/EGT (jet pipe temperature/exhaust gases temperature), or falling RPM, is the main indication of these conditions. It may result in a flameout and even physical damage to the engine.
