| Its mission is to gain and maintain contact with the enemy outside the areas in which the constabularies are working. Air Force in England from 1978 to '84 and developed a number of friends within the various constabularies I dealt with. The need for state constabularies and federal investigators did not arise until after World War I, when the automobile gave criminals easy transportation from one community, county, or state to another-- effectively putting them beyond the reach of the local foot patrol officer and the sheriff's posse. |
