In isolation, copying and drawing tests are not recommended for assessing ULN because they have a poor ability to discriminate between ULN, cognitive impairment, (55,56) and constructional apraxia.
The researchers used scores for individual items on the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) at admission as well as the variables of age, sex, education, body mass index, depression, left-side neglect, aphasia, lesion side and etiology, comorbidities, and ideomotor and constructional apraxia to predict FIM scores at discharge in 248 patients who had had a stroke.
