Costmary
(Chrysanthemum balsamitd), a perennial herba-ceous plant of the family Compositae. The leaves are entire. Thenumerous small calathide heads with yellow disc flowers andwhite ray flowers are gathered into a common corymbose in-florescence. This species grows primarily on the arid mountainslopes in the Caucusus. It is also found in Asia Minor andSoutheast Asia. Costmary is cultivated as a condiment in kitchengardens.
