A torch that preheats metal while the surface is rapidly oxidized by a jet of oxygen issuing through the flame from an additional feed line.

To pull fence posts easier, I cut two holes with a cutting torch in an old 20" or 22" metal disk blade.
However, this situation is not all bad--some machines have kept the cutting torch at bay for 30 or 40 years with this strategy.
And after months of wear and tear, sometimes a cutting torch is necessary to remove them.
