The domestic specimens in this region constituted an extended population cytogenetically similar to their putative sylvatic original population in central Bolivia (Tables 1 and 3, Figure 2D, E, and F). Because at least one-half of fibroid tumors appear to be cytogenetically normal, there may exist an unidentified submicroscopic mutation in this karyotypically normal subgroup or even in the cytogenetically abnormal group as well. Based on earlier data from this Phase I, proof-of-principle study of HSPPC-70, Antigenics is conducting an exploratory Phase II trial with AG-858 to evaluate the safety and efficacy of combination treatment in patients with chronic phase CML who are cytogenetically positive after treatment with Gleevec. |
