A device that calibrates the relative strength of a color using complementary filters. Contrast with colorimeter.


densitometer [‚den·sə′täm·əd·ər]
(engineering)
An instrument which measures optical density by measuring the intensity of transmitted or reflected light; used to measure photographic density.
