Tokyo, Japan, Mar 27, 2006 - (JCN) - The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) announced on March 23 that the Biomass Technology Research Center (BTRC), one of its research entities, has succeeded in continuously synthesizing diesel fuel from wood.
Because of the hurricanes and refinery turnarounds, diesel fuel was already in short supply, and prices in the Midwest were at an all-time high.
One of the major changes is the introduction of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel and the removal of methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE).
