Since it uses a series of beeps similar to a fax machine to transmit data, the device can be used with over 90% of telephones, including digital PBX systems and cellular and home phones, according to JVC. A digital PBX needs digital coaxial cable to operate; it can't run on the old analog cable. PingTone Communications recently provided insight into 2006 growth rates while CIO Today and Network World reported in December that new industry wide VoIP deployments outsold digital PBX systems for the first time. |
