Brakes composed of alternate fixed and moving discs which rub together when brakes are applied. The fixed discs are keyed to the axle, the other to the wheel.
A type of non-servo brake system used on aircraft. A series of metal or carbon discs keyed to slots inside the wheels rotate between series of fixed discs keyed to the axle on which the wheel is mounted. The hydraulic pressure clamps the rotating discs between the fixed discs to produce the necessary braking effect.
