As demand grows for disc drives in the consumer electronics industry, an equally robust demand is driving major changes on disc drive products in the enterprise server market. Tokyo, Japan, Nov 18, 2005 - (JCNN) - Panasonic, the brand for which Matsushita Electric Industrial is known, announced November 17 that itdeveloped a chipset for disc drives that records and plays Blu-ray Disc (BD), DVD-Multi (DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-ROM), +R, +RW, and all CD formats. The Joint Venture will focus on the planning, design, manufacturing and marketing to manufacturers of optical disc drives (DVD and CD drives) for integration into products such as PCs. |
