The early basal leaves of patience-dock (R. patientia) are sometimes used in salads. The common weed R. acetosa is known variously as dock, common sorrel, or garden sorrel. When Jeny Cole, mayor of Rainer, OR, on the Columbia River, cut the ribbon at the city marina May 15, Oregon became the first state in the nation to complete a large-scale transient docking facility using boater's gas tax monies through the federal Boating Infrastructure Grant program. Elements of the master plan for the expansion of Marina Park include a conceptual planning exercise to determine information on priorities and costs and an operational review and technical study of the current marina docking facility so council can gather details on the money needed to ensure the facility is running efficiently. |
