dump valve [′dəmp ‚valv]
(engineering)
A large valve located at the bottom of a tank or container used in emergency situations to empty the tank quickly; for example, to jettison fuel from an airplane fuel tank.

Although you can buy bead blasters at tire stores, the Stengels made their own by welding a fitting in an air tank, installing a dump valve and installing a piece of 3" pipe, flattened at the end, with a hook to grip the bead of a tire.
The two-stage decompression and dump valve enables the operator to adjust pressure to laboratory accuracy.
Models GTC-4 and GTC-8 have an air-actuated dump valve with a positive conic sealinstead of the usual gravity flapper valve, which is reportedly more vulnerable to air leaks.
