The Metro system provides up to 24 duplex channels over a single fiber pair, enabling the fiber to carry up to 60 Gbps.
The proposal calls for significantly narrower bandwidths, for example, and for reduced separation between duplex channel pairs.
When used in conjunction with the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7700 long haul DWDM system, the FLASHWAVE 7300 transponder can transport 176 full duplex channels at 10 Gbps in under five racks for tremendous space savings in crowded central offices and co-location spaces--no other DWDM commercial system can offer this capacity.
