dynamometer any of a number of instruments for measuring power or force dynamometer [‚dī·nə′mäm·əd·ər] (engineering) An instrument in which current, voltage, or power is measured by the force between a fixed coil and a moving coil. Long-term stability of hand-held dynamometric measurements in children who have myelomeningocele. Sampselle et al (95) were the first to report on the use of a dynamometric speculum to measure PFM strength. Tizanidine also has been shown to be effective in reducing spasticity as measured by the Modified Ashworth Scale, in reducing pain intensity, and in improving quality-of-life scores without decreasing muscle force as measured by the British Medical Research Council Scale and dynamometric grip force in a study of 47 people with chronic spasticity following stroke. |
