emission flame photometry [i′mish·ən ‚flām fō′täm·ə·trē]
(analytical chemistry) A form of flame photometry in which a sample solution to be analyzed is aspirated into a hydrogen-oxygen or acetylene-oxygen flame; the line emission spectrum is formed, and the line or band of interest is isolated with a monochromator and its intensity measured photoelectrically.
