enthalpimetric analysis [en‚thal·pə′me·trik ə′nal·ə·səs]
(analytical chemistry) Generic designation for a group of modern thermochemical methodologies such as thermometric enthalpy titrations which rely on monitoring the temperature changes produced in adiabatic calorimeters by heats of reaction occurring in solution; in contradistinction, classical methods of thermoanalysis such as thermogravimetry focus primarily on changes occurring in solid samples in response to externally imposed programmed alterations in temperature.
