Sandstone rich in feldspar; intermediate in composition between arkosic sandstone and quartz sandstone, made up of 10-25% feldspar and less than 20% matrix material.

In extreme western Wisconsin, the Norwalk is a fine- to very fine-grained feldspathic sandstone (Ostrom, 1987; Runkel, 2000).
The Hampton Formation contains dark silty and sandy shale, argillaceous shale, feldspathic sandstone and impure quartzite arenites (Rodgers, 1953) interpreted to have been deposited in shallow-marine conditions by Cudzil and Driese (1987).
