flash player

(1) A digital music player that uses built-in and/or removable flash memory cards for storing songs. Contrast with "hard disk player," which uses a tiny hard disk for storage. Flash players are the smallest and lightest portable music players, but do not provide as much capacity as models with a hard disk. See digital music player and MP3.

(2) (Flash player) Software that plays a Flash animation. See Flash.
