(materials) A section that is cut from a log and subsequently manufactured into veneer or lumber. Sheets of veneer that are stacked in sequence as they have been cut from a log. A longitudinal section of a log, sometimes having bark on one or more edges. flitch 1. A portion sawn from a log and normally manufactured into veneer or lumber. 2.
