Floating Bridge
a bridge on floating supports (in the form of rafts, barges, or pontoons secured by anchors). Wooden or metal spans are set on the floating supports. Floating bridges are inexpensive and may be erected quickly, but vehicles may move over them only at reduced speeds. Floating bridges are used primarily as temporary structures.
