(electricity)
A light projector used for outdoor lighting of buildings, parking lots, sports fields, and the like, usually having a filament lamp or mercury-vapor lamp and a parabolic reflector.

The luminaries are available with 14 optical configurations and tilts ranging from 0 to 45 degrees, making them suited to a wide variety of lighting applications, and are more efficient than the floodlighting systems presently used.
The transparency can be reversed or varied by external floodlighting or by images projected on the facade.
