fluorescent minituft method [flə¦res·ənt ′min·ē‚təft ‚meth·əd] (fluid mechanics) An adaptation of the tuft method in which the tuft material is treated with a fluorescent dye and the image is recorded with fluorescence photography, allowing reduction of the tuft size, so that there is less interference by the tufts with the fluid flow.
