Established in 1928, the Gold Medal is granted to those "who have made preeminent scientific and engineering achievements of proven commercial benefit to the world's pulp, paper, board, and forest product industries. RISI provides online and printed pricing and market news, analysis, information and benchmarking products and services targeted to companies operating throughout the forest product industry supply chain, including timber, pulp, paper and packaging producers, industry suppliers, consumer products companies and commercial printers. The Forest Resource Trust program had its genesis in the early 1990s in the thick of the timber wars when then-Secretary of State Phil Keisling led an attempt to find some common ground between environmentalists and forest product companies. |
