gamboge

gamboge (gămbōj`) [Fr.,=Cambodia], an intensely yellow pigment pigment, substance that imparts color to other materials. In paint, the pigment is a powdered substance which, when mixed in the liquid vehicle, imparts color to a painted surface.

I don't know, but I heard that gamboge ghost of a Fedallah saying so, and he seems to know all about ships' charms.
His blood may be gamboge yellow with green spots, for all anybody knows.
