San Francisco's "sanctuary city" policy — as it was implemented until recently — put the welfare of juvenile gang-bangers and drug dealers, who also were illegal immigrants, before the safety of law-abiding residents who are victimized by gangs and thugs. The 31-year-old waitress said people are afraid to talk openly about the gang activity because they fear the gang-bangers. As I recall, teenage gang-bangers were shuttled to grown-up prisons on the East coast to get a dose of what big time prison life is about. |
