ghosted

(1) Being ignored in a social environment. In today's world of electronic socialization, it is very easy to not respond to a friend's e-mail, text message, chat request or other form of communication. See friending.

(2) The grey or fuzzy appearance of menu text or buttons, which indicates that the operation is not currently selectable.

A Ghosted Button
The button on the left is ghosted, indicating that the function is not available at the moment. When it is usable, the elements are restored as in the example on the right.
