(organic chemistry)
CH3COOH Pure acetic acid (containing less than 1% water); a clear, colorless, caustic hygroscopic liquid, boiling at 118°C, soluble in water, alcohol, and ether, and crystallizing readily; used as a solvent for oils and resins.
