A recently completed $20M, 8-year project examined glaciological, hydrological and oceanographic interactions that occurred during the last deglaciation, such as the Younger Dryas event that abruptly interrupted warming at the end of the most recent 100 kyr ice-age cycle. This grand field experiment has enormous potential in oceanography and ecology in addition to all the glaciological implications. |
