Godetia

a genus of herbaceous plants of the family Ona-graceae. Godetia is very similar to the genus Clarkia and is often grouped together with it. There are about 20 species of Godetia in North and South America, and they are especially numerous in California. Farewell-to-spring (Godetia amoe-na) and Whitney godetia (G. grandiflora or G. whitneyi) are grown as ornamental annuals with abundant, attractive, large flowers. There are many forms and varieties of various heights, with simple or double flowers of various shades of white, pink, and red. Godetia plants are used in flower beds and borders and as cut flowers.
