Guardhouse

a special building for keeping servicemen under arrest. In the armed forces of the USSR there are garrison (camp) and troop guardhouses. Guardhouses are used for the detention of servicemen arrested for disciplinary procedures or by investigative agencies, as well as for servicemen who are under trial. It may also be used to hold servicemen who have been sentenced by a military tribunal to detention in the guardhouse or other punishments before the sentence becomes res judicata.
