Contract award: Delivery of helium refrigerator
cryostat and temperature controller
In the present studies, the high purity ortho-deuterium gas was prepared with the magnetic catalyser OXISORB (2,3) contained in an aluminum cartridge and inserted in the 30 mm [phi] X 50 mm/copper cell at the top of a two-stage helium refrigerator
CryoMini (4) Model-D510 with the cooling capability down to about 9 K, then ortho-concentration of about 98% was attained  by the direct contact of liquid deuterium with the catalyser at the temperature a little below 20 K.
Existing facilities and equipment include: extensive cryogenic facilities and superconducting magnet tooling and test equipment in the Magnet Development Laboratory, the Magnet Test Laboratory and the Accelerator System String Test Facility; the Central Facility, a 550,000 square foot building including office/training space, shop/lab space, a well-equipped machine shop, a liquid helium refrigerator
and warehouse space; buildings for the linear accelerator as well as its negative hydrogen ion source and 2.
