This scheme, called high-energy electron cooling, helped the Tevatron collider at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in Batavia, Ill. There, they will use high-energy particles to "see" inside the solid monument. During the processing, high-energy electrons penetrate the product to form three-dimensional molecular links that are said to deliver a wide variety of commercially desirable properties. |
