Honor Roll
in the USSR a form of moral incentive for the working people. The honor roll is provided for by the standard regulations of internal labor organization and by statutes on labor discipline in separate branches of the national economy. The names of workers who have distinguished themselves in socialist competition and of outstanding rationalizers and innovators of production are placed on the honor roll board with a photograph and a brief description of their work accomplishments. There are honor rolls for enterprises (including shops), kolkhozes, raions, oblasts, krais, and republics. Names are listed upon the decision of factory, plant, or local (shop) committees, made in cooperation with the administration; honor rolls for raions, oblasts, krais, or republics are drawn up in cooperation with the corresponding state, economic, and trade union agencies.
