A predefined connection between programs so that when information in one database or file is changed, related information in other databases and files is also updated. See hypertext, compound document and OLE.


hot link [¦hät ′liŋk]
(computer science)
A linking of information in two documents so that modification of the information in the source document results in the same change in the destination document.
