An elevator operated by water pressure. Also known as hydraulic lift.

hydraulic elevator
An elevator powered by the energy of a liquid under pressure in a cylinder which acts on a piston or plunger to move the elevator car. Also see plunger hydraulic elevator; roped hydraulic elevator.
