i-broker

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.03 sec.

An organization that registers and provides the management of i-names and i-numbers for the XRI naming system (see XRI). An i-broker also provides various services to the i-name registrant. There is typically a contact page that can contain any information the registrant desires. It provides spam-free communications, because everyone contacting the page must verify their own i-name or e-mail address. An i-broker may also serve as the user's OpenID authentication provider (see OpenID).

A forwarding service enables any i-name to be redirected to any URI, enabling a resource to be moved when necessary without notifying users who may have bookmarked the i-name. The unified address book service provides a way to manage and synchronize contacts among a user's devices. See i-name, XRI and XRDS.
