(meteorology)
A type of precipitation consisting of transparent or translucent pellets of ice 0.2 inch (5 millimeters) or less in diameter; may be spherical, irregular, or (rarely) conical in shape.

Dry ice blasting is a unique technology that uses small, compact dry ice pellets that are accelerated in a jet of compressed air.
The cleaning process involves the use of a delivery machine to spurt out 3 mm ice pellets at high pressure on any surface including metal, glass, wood and masonry without damaging the surface.
Sleet occurs when melted precipitation falls through the atmosphere in a colder layer of air and freezes before striking the surface as little ice pellets.
