Safeguarding copyrighted images in an electronic format, especially the Internet. The Web has made it very easy to save an image that appears on a Web site. All you have to do is right click the image and select Save Picture As or Save Image As and give it a file name. Due to the fact that high-resolution images are not as necessary for screen display as they are for print, most Web images are low resolution and thus provide a form of automatic copy protection for print purposes. Printing a low-res image will not produce a high-quality picture.

Image, which has a library of about 250 CDs and 3,000 DVDs and annual revenue of about $120 million, reincorporated in Delaware in 2005--a move Kirkland said was designed to give Image protection from takeover attempts. The product's new features such as more robust covert watermarking, new visual watermarking capabilities and online image storage reinforce Digimarc's expertise in providing image protection to our joint customers and nicely complement our Photoshop CS2 offering. ImageBridge directly integrates into Scene7's platform to allow Scene7 users to easily enter their Digimarc information and apply digital watermarks to any image or eCatalog generated by the system, providing enhanced image protection and security while delivering clear, consistent branding across channels. |
